Education:
B.S. in geology, University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2015)
Research interests:
My primary research interests include igneous petrology, planetary science, and meteorites. However, I have also found interest in medical geology and teaching geoscience courses. My current master’s thesis research project focuses on understanding martian magmatic processes, specifically constraining the formation and emplacement processes responsible for poikilitic shergottites (a relatively rare and understudied subgroup of martian meteorites). I am also currently interning with Jacobs/NASA Johnson Space Center. For my remote-internship, I am working on a research project comparing enstatite chondrite impact melt meteorites, aubrite meteorites, and Mercury due to their similar geochemical properties, with an of aim of determining if these meteorites can be used as mercurian analogues and be used to better understand the formation and differentiation of Mercury. I utilize various classic petrological tools, such as optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and electron probe analysis to conduct my research, as well as various computer softwares to process and present my work.
